COMBINED HEATING AND ELECTRO POWER  STATION

Made in Germany

The following shows history, technical details of an object for sale under very favourable conditions:

Electric and heat power generating station,

operable (at user’s choice) with natural gas, gas oil, diesel fuel.

Output:

a) Electric current, middle voltage (10 kV), 2 lines = 2x 4,6 MW

b) operating in mode”a”, additional heat from engines: 2x 3,6 MW

c)working as a pure heat generating station to supply steam for long-distance transfer (this without running the generators in position ”a”): 2x 9 MW

It is a very sophisticated, compound-setup; since May 2005  the energy production has been terminated, the object will be dismantled, stored and packed for shipment to a new location for a “second life with another user”; all engineering services are available (dismantling, transportation and logistics, rebuilding and running-in phase) Object satisfies high level of today’s European ecologic requirements.

Note: The plant will only be sold in its entirety, not in sections or for individual parts

Technical details:

Engines / generators: Two individual systems, may be combined while running, engines of German origin, generators of Swiss origin. Engines: Twelve cylinders (ship-type) diesels working at a rate of 500 rpm max., mechanical power 2x 4,8 MW, electrical power 2x 4,6 MW, Fuel source may be switched without reworking engines. Alternating current at a voltage of 10 kV may be fed directly into the local network. Thus, set-up is ideal as a main power source for medium settlement or as a stand-by or peak source for larger town (or plant).

Catalysators: Two, performing as SCR and oxidation cats..

Engines´ heat exchangers: Two, German origin, performing as upright calorifers, each with an output of 2x 3, 84 MW

Hybrid radiators: Two, made in Switzerland

Fuel storing tanks: Two, 80 cubic metres total

Due to the development of the market for electrical energy in Germany the generator engines were put on back-up service in 2001, and the generation of heating energy was continued exclusively by running the high-energy burner installations. Nevertheless, the serviceability of the engines was assured by periodic starts and short term running periods.

The high-energy burners are separated from the engines and are sited in appropriate buildings. Both parts of the power station may be run with #2 diesel fuel or H-gas. In Germany they were mainly run with H-gas, leaving them extremely clean. Engine supplier: Maschinenbau Halber-stadt. The engines were installed in 1995; one of them clocked 30.000 hours, the second one only 26.000 hours, which amounts to avery low total use-time. By making use of the heat produced when running the engines, two large heat exchangers transform that energy to 3,6 MW. The exhaust systems of the two engines feature double silencers and catalyst systems. In fact, it is possible to feed the local steam lines with an temperature level of 120° C.

Both engines are controlled by central controls. Electric energy at a voltage level of 10 kV is presently fed to the local and mid-distance network. Both engines are connected to separate sections of a 4-flue chimney (2 sections are still vacant). The gas engines are slow to middle revolution four-cycle motors in V-configuration, with 12 cylinders each (each weighing approx. 90 tons). The separate working high-energy furnaces were delivered by Babcock.  Each of them has a capacity of 9 MW. They, too, are built for two kinds of fuel. The were originally supplied and installed in 1993 and are still in use today, supplying energy to long-distance customers.

Since May 2005 a reorganization of the heat supply network is going into effect– that is the reason why this installation will be redundant. This makes a sale necessary as maintaining a spare plant is not necessary. The object is to sell the engine–generator-furnace setup along with the containing metal shed. Dimensions for the shed are: 26 m x 25 m x 14 m. The walls of the building are constructed from gas concrete cinder blocks and a newer sheet metal superstructure. The building includes an installed crane device for service and repair work. Furthermore, there are also air ducts for supplying the engines with pre-filtered air.

There is a separate , additional section for remotely operating and controlling all engine functions. Dimensions of the energy distribution and control centre (with pumps and pressure regulating devices): 30 m x 7 m x 5 m. The dimensions of the building containing the high-energy furnaces are: 38 m x 13 m x 7m.

This is a fine auxillary or main diesel-electric power plant in very good and running condition and with low running time. They should perform reliably for many years to come, especially in light of the fact that for much of their service life they have been powered by clean heating gas. The installed price for the entire set-up, when new, was Euro 39 million).

The exclusive seller is ready for immediate negotiations as long as the following procedures are observed: Potential buyer’s side shall present certified purchasing capital statement/ financing capability, then … issue of negotiated cash deposit on account, thereafter…draft of ICPO / contract draft / purchase and sales agreement, followed by an irrevocable transferable and confirmed L/C.

Dismantling of the plant in Germany. Transport, shipping, chief supervision when rebuilding, putting into operation abroad, etc. may be negotiated separately.
