The Bell 222 is a twin engined medium lift helicopter. It first flew on August the 13th 1976 and was certified on August the 16th 1979, with deliveries beginning in 1980.

It was unique in that it was designed and built as a civilian helicopter, rather than the normal of taking a military helicopter and adapting it for civilian use.

It is a 2 bladed main rotor and two bladed tail rotor, with 2 Honeywell Lycoming LTS101 engines. It has had many configurations over the years, it could purchased as a EMS ship or as a corporate VIP ship. It has retractable undercarriage on the VIP ships for a sleeker line and less drag.

The aircraft was made famous with the 80's TV series Air Wolf, sadly the guns and turbo boost were not standard!

The helicopter has an excellent reputation in the corporate market as it has a true VIP cabin, with the passengers separate to the pilots.

The noise levels in the cabin are very low and the ride quality is extremely smooth thanks to the Bell Nodel beam system.

Compared with other similar types on the market, the 222 is cost effective to run, with parts freely available, either from Bell or on the used market.

The helicopter has a range of 350 miles and a cruise speed of 140kts.

This particular 222 is in full VIP configuration inside and out, with a 9 out of 10 for both the interior and exterior.

It is certified for single pilot IFR flight.

There are 2 items on the componant sheet that show low time, the first is the main transmission, we have another transmission available that will form part of the sale and will be changed out as the hours fall due.

The second is the module for No2 engine, again this will form part of the sale as and when the hours or cycles falldue.
